"This dentists office used to be great and I had gone for years. My last couple of experiences have brought me to this review. They seem to be terribly unorganized. I showed up for an appointment in December to be told my insurance would not cover the cleaning because my last one was less than 6 months ago (July), whoever scheduled my 6 month appointments should have thought about this, no? Fast forward to now, January, I had a 9:30 appointment. Someone took me back and polished a few of my teeth (yes, not all of them lol) and told me the hygienist would be there soon. I waited until 10am (30 minutes after my appt time) and still had not seen a hygienist. Decided it was time to up and leave, no one seemed to care."

"I’ve been a patient at Summerlin Dental for over 20 years. Dr Murray retired last year and sold the practice to P3 Medical. Since then, everytime I go in for cleaning I need a new crown, or 2 crowns. Last time Dr Urban said I needed Invisalign braces and 2 fillings replaced. When I went in for fillings he then told me instead of fillings he did a “crown rebuild” after insurance it went from the $35 to $165. Then crowns would be $1000 after insurance. I heard him tell the patient in the next room the exact same thing he told me about needing crowns. When he walked out he told his assistant he was switching from fillings to crown rebuild and she replied “are you sure?” I was already feeling like every visit was more dental work and did not trust him. I finally scheduled for crowns and the day before my appointment they called and said Dr Urban was no longer there and a dentist I’d never met would be doing my crowns. I canceled and found a new dentist. Dr Amy Gearin is terrific. Told me I don’t need crowns or braces at this time. I will never go back to Summerlin Dental."

"If you’re looking for a new office, BE AWARE!!! DR URBAN will lie to you so you can be tricked into dental treatment. He will replace your crown even if their isn’t anything wrong with your old crown, in my opinion this is border line unethical work. Then after your insurance company will send you a bill up to a few thousand. There is constant waiting over an hour for your appointment and then they push you to buy treatment, though most times the treatment isn’t needed. They will want to do the treatment the same day which is MORE waiting, at least a hour more. If Dr. Urban is your dentist there could be times he leaves the room for extended periods mid treatment. For a “multi million dollar office “ there are tears and rips in the chairs; moldy hoses, sink doors hanging off the hinges, scuff marks on the walls, trash and things on the floors, I’m honestly surprised OSHA hasn’t given the office a visit. The new manager Lori seems to not know what she is doing, raises her voice and speaks down to her assistants. The staff are also told to use the restroom outside of the office but reprimanded when they leave by the manager."
