The Pope County Humane Society, located at 17584 195th Avenue in Glenwood, Minnesota, is a non-profit organization dedicated to caring for lost, abandoned, and stray animals. Established in 1985 and incorporated in 1987, the society operates with the mission of helping pets in need through sheltering, adoption, education, spay/neuter programs, and community outreach.

The society is open to the public for visits on Wednesday-Friday from 9am-6pm, with appointments available outside of those hours/days if needed. Visitors are encouraged to sign up for the volunteer program to socialize with the animals after a short orientation. The society also facilitates adoption appointments for approved applicants, who are required to bring animal carriers or leashes to the appointment along with an ID.

In addition to providing temporary housing and foster care for animals in need, the Pope County Humane Society works towards reducing the number of animals euthanized in the community by promoting spaying/neutering, pet adoption, and humane treatment of animals. The society collaborates with other humane societies, rescue groups, and governmental agencies to address pet overpopulation and provide medical care to animals in its custody.

With the support of the community, the Pope County Humane Society continues to grow and fulfill its mission of caring for animals in Pope County and surrounding areas. Donations are greatly appreciated to help provide care for the animals and support the society's efforts to make a difference in the lives of pets in need.

"Id give no stars if I could. This place is ridiculous, adoption fees are outrageous considering the problem this town already has with stray cats and abandoned animals. But they charge around $200+ to adopt a cat. Not to mention the ppl working there are rude and will straight up lie to you . This place really should be investigated, how many animals do guys put down each year compared to the number of animals you actually find homes for? Cause I always see all the same sweet faces everytime I check your page."

"There are so many stray animals in Glenwood and they are always full. Which I just found out why they are charging 250$ a kitten/puppy and 500$ for a cat/dog that is out outrageous price for an animal that is beyond the money they would need to care for an animal, and nite I know why they are always full and aren't getting rid of any animals so what are they doing with them? Just killing them? All they do is ask for donations and now I'm wondering how many of these shops donate to them and who all knows about the ridiculous price they are putting on just for a pet!!!! Any other website you look they talk about the friendly staff and pets this one talks about wanting donations right away!!!!!"
