"The 3 mile self-directed walking tour led me through mostly well-maintained (get an intern to climb into the shrub exhibit and yank out the offending thistle from the juniper ground cover)… ecosystems. My favourite exhibit was the shade tree area. A close second were the various ravine sections. Re: pollinator zones. Wide variety of bees/flies/critters. The native species meadow was a surprise hit. I loved the discrete waterways and the explanation that the meadow’s biomass is mostly underground!"

"This is an amazing adjunct area to the main arboretum. I’m some ways it’s better because there are less people and it’s free. Lake Tamarack has a sizable area of open water that is perfect for waterfowl viewing. On the loop that goes by the lake there is a huge Burr Oak tree that I was excited to see."

"Lots to see and explore! We took advantage of the trolly tour (only $10!) and learned some really cool facts. The staff of helpful and chill. Great place to visit on a weekend afternoon."
