"Most traumatizing veterinary office I’ve ever been to, out of about a dozen. The doctor needs to retire or hire more help, they keep you waiting for HOURS after your appointment time regardless of what you’re there for. I saw an animal control employee wait for three hours to have a dog in his care treated, only to be told he needed to reschedule. It was a gross misuse of government resources, wasting his time like that. They are incredibly rough with injections, to take a simple blood test they were sawing the needle back and forth trying to find the vein. Had to puncture the cat multiple times in multiple legs. The poor thing was crying and wailing, and they were just manhandling her. My cat was being treated for bladder crystals, the office was insanely overbooked, animals and owners piled up on top of each other. We waited for two hours in the lobby, they had my cat behind the scenes for another two hours, and in the end she was handed to me over the desk by a vet tech like a bag of groceries, completely soaked in her own urine, while the tech was saying “we couldn’t get her to pee for a urine sample.” Cat was literally soaked in urine, they couldn’t even be bothered to rinse her off. Avoid this place. Blue Lake Animal Care Center treats animals with dignity and respect, they have more than one doctor, they aren’t overbooked 100% of the time, and your appointment will actually begin when it’s supposed to—not hours later."

"I live right across the street and have been trying to get an appointment for months. I have left messages and have never gotten a call back. I wish they would just say they are not taking new patients. My neighbor said they do not respect your time and other reviews have confirmed that. I waited on hold for 30 min today and decided to get help at sierra vet since they took my call"

"When a massive splenic tumor was discovered on my dog Josie during an ultrasound at an emergency clinic, I was quoted $10,000-$15,000 for the surgery. I had seen Dr. Kelly before for a few minor things so I had written his name on the emergency clinic's form. That same evening Dr. Kelly took it upon himself to reach out to me and offered to remove the tumor for around $1500. The surgery was skillfully done and Josie has recovered fully. Dr. Kelly and his staff really care about pets, and Round Hill Animal Hospital is the best veterinary clinic in the Tahoe area, hands down. Josie and I cannot express our gratitude enough!
