"Brian is very unprofessional. They lie to get your money and clearly gaslight people for speaking up. Just look how he responds to negative reviews. I wonder how many he deletes too? Don't waste your time here. Great basin aviation has an actual effective program In place for new student pilots and they return phone calls. This place is a JOKE from the owner down."

"AVOID AT ALL COST! I found this aviation school to be highly disappointing. Their financial practices left me feeling misled, as they implemented undisclosed fees and created misleading/straight up false advertisements. The contracts seem to impose undisclosed obligations on the students. Upon voicing my concerns to management about the lack of transparency, to my shock, I was excluded from the institution. Moreover, the quality of the equipment and staff was unsatisfactory. The staff seemed unenthusiastic and frequently unresponsive, with mistakes being made during the onboarding process. I suppose with such meager supply of flight school services in the area even a mediocre business like High Sierra Pilots can stay afloat… a true shame."

"I have been going here over over 5 month now for helicopters lesson. I love this place close to home in Reno. It a small little airport but that doesn't mean you want see every kinda of plans coming in for a visit.. my instructor has the patience of a saint. He has taken the time to figure out how I learn and structured each lesson just for me. I would at this point consider him to be a close friend at this point. High Sierra is a great place to be to join to rent a small fixed wing plane from or go for a glider ride. The price to fly is very responsible and they have several pilots that are friendly and will to work with new students."

"Super nice guys. Very good communication all around. The flight was amazing and the price was WAY lower than I would have expected and it included my wife as well for the same price. If you think the gondola view of Lake Tahoe is spectacular wait until you see it from 8000 feet! Flying up and over the surrounding mountains was thrilling but I never felt unsafe. Our pilot was very professional, wore his mask the whole time and made us feel very comfortable all at the same time. On top of this he was very charismatic. I cannot recommend this company enough!"
