Lotus of Siam - Flamingo Road

"Came here for lunch. Restaurant filled up very quickly and so reservations are recommended. Hostess greeted us and we were promptly seated. Servers were very quick to attend to us and take our orders. We have a very fond memories of this place. In particular their Khao Soi. We of course ordered this dish again along with their crispy chicken, crab fried rice, and drunken noodles. Overall we were happy with our meal and would come back. One point of feedback that we had for the restaurant pertains to their crab fried rice. We found that the fried rice was quite under seasoned and mushy in texture. Typically thai crab fried rice would have a dry texture with good separation of the grains. Here we found the rice clumped together and overall quite wet. I wonder if this is a reflection of them using overcooked or freshly cooked rice."

"This is really amazing authentic Thai food! If I lived in Vegas I’d come here once a week! Definitely a popular place. It’s huge but every table is filled. Of course I had to order the Thai ice tea. My favorite dish was the chicken lollipops with the sweet and spicy glaze. I didn’t love the garlic prawns- they were good but not my favorite. We had the basil chicken with ground meat and loved that as well. We way over ordered. Leave room for Upside down pineapple cake with coconut ice cream for dessert!"

"Honestly, don’t understand the hype here. The food was overpriced for what it was and nothing to write home about. Most of the dishes were on the sweeter side. The only dish that really stood out from what we ordered was the crispy duck curry- they definitely perfected that duck. The service was good and ambiance was decent- as one would expect for the price point, but overall a really lackluster, and rather disappointing experience. Overall, it’s worth a try at least once."

"Came here for dinner after loading in CES. I had been to their other restaurant a few times, and its solid Thai food. We had a reservation, walked in and still waited a brief 10mins. They sat our duo at a nice big booth which was lovely. We started with the fried garlic prawns, which were a great start to the meal. They were sizable, served with the shell on, and perfectly cooked. The chicken lollipops are a staple there and did not disappoint. They cam blazing hot out of the kitchen but looked so delicious that they were worth almost burning your mouth to eat. The glaze was thick like molasses, a bit sweet, and spicy. These disappeared quickly. For our entree we split the Khao Soi with crispy duck. The duck was tender but not as flavorful as I hoped. The curry was alright, but so mild. I'm not sure if this place even asks how spicy you want certain curry dishes, but we weren't asked. The bartender was kind enough to make me a Thai basil lemonade with vodka which was fire. We enjoyed a fried banana desert but the banana came out cold. The ice cream was super cold and creamy, with the most real tasting vanilla Ive had in awhile. Lotus of Siam is a solid option and consistent. It won't break the bank and you know you're getting a good meal, and service is quick. I'll be seeing them again."
