Carter Cove Recreation Area is a beautiful campground and park located at 10692 Carter Cove Road in Plainview, Arkansas. Situated along the shores of Nimrod Lake and Dam, the area is surrounded by the stunning Ouachita and Ozark Mountains, offering visitors breathtaking scenery and endless outdoor recreation opportunities.
The campground features 34 spacious and modern campsites, as well as a large day use group picnic shelter. Visitors can enjoy a swimming beach, boat ramp, playground, and plenty of room for the whole family to relax and unwind. Nimrod Lake, created by the dam in 1942, has become a popular recreational oasis for outdoor enthusiasts, offering fishing, boating, water skiing, and tubing opportunities.
The area is conveniently located near State Highway 7, a National Scenic Byway, and other nearby points of interest such as Petit Jean State Park, Mount Nebo State Park, and Hot Springs National Park. Wildlife enthusiasts will enjoy spotting white-tailed deer, turkey, quail, and a variety of other animals in the area.

"No wifi there.. Not the campsite's fault. Site 7 has 0 Shade and our camper's A/C couldn't keep up. Lake Nimrod was low and the swimming was super muddy. The Camp and lake are not for me. The Corps of engineers seems to have put alot of effort into this place. Just wish it all turned out better."
"This was a nice getaway, not crowded, shady, swimming area is what I expect for a lake. Boat ramp and good parking for the truck and trailer. Bathhouse was clean and stocked."
