NorthWest Canoe Co is a genuine canoe building and paddle sport repair shop located at 100 Pine Street in Clearwater, Minnesota. Whether you prefer to do it yourself or leave it to the professionals, we have everything you need - from seats and yokes to resins, cloth, and wood strips. Our large inventory ships throughout the lower 48 states. Our professionals can handle all your canoe and kayak repair needs at Minnesota's premier repair shop.

"I've now built two cedar strip NW Cruiser canoes using plans and materials from NW Canoe. Some understanding of the process is necessary but if you know your way around a shop the plans give you everything you need to get the job done. The materials are absolutely first-rate, with clear tight grained cedar strips, solid ash gunwales, and ready-built seats, thwarts, and gunwales. High quality fasteners, epoxy, and fiberglass round out the supplies. Sure, it was more convenient when they were in St. Paul, but now they're right on the river so you can try things out on the water. Shipping straight to your door is available, though for long stock I'd just go pick it up. Photos to follow once I've put the varnish on."

"Buyer beware: "Plans" for purchase are only the mold forms for tracing, no bow or stern included. No additional plans, directions or instructions. After contacting the company I was directed to a very brief building overview on the website, and shop cam videos of assembling canoes are on the site, but again, there are no instructions within the purchased plan PDF. No response on request for a refund."
