"Checking was slow waiting for someone to show up. The stairs to the rooms are steep and narrow. A bit daunting going up and coming down. The door to the room was warped and noisy to close. The glass window transom above was at off on an angle creating gaps, so the room had no real privacy. The ceiling of the room had water damage. I really didn't see an antique in the room besides myself. It only had a wooden dining room chair. No end table for the bed. The bed was pretty comfortable. The shared bathroom was pretty dated but clean. Automatic light with a noisy fan in the middle of the night too."

"We came in late after a long day of hiking and were starving! The owner sat us down and served even though it past their closing time. She did all with a big smile and was super nice. The food was AMAZING! The whole restaurant is beautiful and super cute. Highly recommend!"

"Check the details more carefully than I did!!! "Double room" is a tiny room, barely big enough for a full sized bed and SHARING a bathroom with 20 other rooms! The room also has no TV, no ac (not even a fan and it was hot) the windows don't open so no ventilation. The staff were perfectly nice and the room was clean, but I would not stay here again."

"This is a restaurant review. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. It was the perfect comfort food. Hubby's ahi tuna salad was really good. The orange and water chestnuts were a nice touch. The tuna was perfectly cooked and thinly sliced. Service was attentive and efficient."

"This is a mixed review. I booked the hotel or three nights. A room with a tiny bed and a shared bathroom down the hallway. The hotel was built in 1877 so not uncommon in very old properties. The property was gorgeous, well maintained. Restaurant staff was very attentive and friendly. We hosted a big dinner with about 15 motorcycle riders. We all ordered entrees with desserts. Not sure what the bill was but it was pretty high and we tipped the help generously. Unfortunately I had a family emergency. My wife went into ER. I live in the Bay Area and was about 6 hours away. I had to leave immediately. I explained that to the hotel staff that was available, only a waitress, and headed home. I then got a message from the hotel clarifying that I left and the reason for it. I explained the situation. They said the owner does not normally give refunds but I could have credit at the hotel. This is the first time in my life. I've stayed in Bridgeport and may very well be the last. The staff person said she would check with the owner. He agreed to give me one day of 2 days refund. And a credit to stay another night. Actually met the owner. I was trying to let staff know that there was something wrong with the outlet in my room and he was in an office behind a partially open door and was actually quite rude to me. Though the property is nice, the restaurant is good. I'm going to have to give a poor review and hopefully it's been balanced. Thank you"
