Murphys Historic Hotel

"I have never experienced such harassment and discrimination until I came to this restaurant. We walked in during our grace period for our reservation, and our hostess informed us that they gave our table away. We didn’t mind since we knew we were 15 minutes late to our reservation. We were very understanding. But then, our waiter came to our table and verbatim said, “Oh, seems like you ladies are stuffing your faces with butter. I will be back later.” We hit him back with some friendly banter and were ready to order, but he walked away. For the next 20 minutes we were mocked at by the other waiters and hostesses. They walked by our tables and laughed at us and never took our order. We eventually caught on and got up to complained to the manager. The manger chose to recommend other restaurants to us instead of helping us. Their racism was very loud and clear. We walked down to the restaurant V where we thoroughly enjoyed our service and food. It’s very unfortunate that we paid for the most expensive suite at this hotel just to be served with the worst service of our lives. We will never come back here again and we caution people of color. Be very weary of your stay here."

"Old hotel. You really feel your back in the old west. We did not have room, and we only went to the restaurant for breakfast. All 7 of us got great meals and enjoyed them thoroughly. Morgan, our waitress was great and gladly took a photo of us afterward."

"While visiting the town of Murphys, the hotel bar is a great place to stop for a drink and a bite to eat. We stopped for drinks and snacks. Bartender was pretty busy, but kept up with everyone."

"We visited Murphy's because of the stories we read about this motel being haunted. Some strange things did happen that are unexplainable. We had 2 rooms and both had histories about being haunted. We read comments that were left by other guests in what I'll call a room journal. Many very interesting stories from past visits. We had rooms 14 & 19. I'm not into long reviews, so I'll leave you with this.... It is spooky, the rooms are nice, unusual things happen and the food is good. We are going again next year!"

"We stayed in the original historic part of the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and had a beautiful private bathroom. The restaurant had delicious food and great service. The saloon was fun with great food and beverage choices. The bartenders were all professional and fun. The hotel is in the middle of main street and is walking distance to numerous wine tasting rooms and restaurants. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel!"
