"We just built an 18x40 vinyl, saltwater pool with PPS and we couldn't be happier. We spent many years researching pools and deciding what we wanted and were terrified we would choose the wrong pool builder but PPS did a phenomenal job. Nik was our salesperson and he answered my hundreds of questions, dumb or smart, with grace. Terry, one of the owners, could work at a desk I'm sure but he gets on site with his crew and drives a bobcat like a pro. They were respectful of our trees and landscaping, and never once made us feel bad for asking questions or being worried. Even the electrician who is an outside party was a sweetheart. Terry would answer his phone or texts on Fridays or Saturdays when we had rookie water questions, and Brandon face-timed me late on a Friday afternoon when I couldn't get our slide turned on. These are the kind of guys you not only want to build your pool (they don't have a third party build them like many companies do) but you might even want to have a beer with them afterward. Five stars for PPS."

"PPS built our pool earlier this summer. While the sales & contract process has some room for improvement, my 5 star rating is for the actual build and follow-up. They were on-time and delivered ahead of schedule. Excellent job coordinating with gas, electric, etc. Most importantly, they stand by their work- we discovered an uneven area of the liner, and they promptly figured out the issue and have a plan for repair. While PPS certainly isn’t the cheapest pool contractor, they won’t disappear post-construction and are committed to their customers. Special thanks to Brandon for his support!"

"Avoid at all costs!!! it’s the most unprofessional pool service company I have ever seen. I have had dealings with this company for several years, and I never feel good about the experience. They don’t tell you about the trip charge, $119 just shows up on your bill in addition to labor; whether they actually have to fix something or not. A good service would tell you there will be $119 trip charge plus labor with a minimum charge. These guys charged me over $200 to light a pilot light, and didn’t diagnose anything to tell me why my heater didn’t start in the first place. Dolphin pools is expensive as well, but at least they let you understand what things cost up front, and don’t charge you for things that they didn’t have to fix. My advice, find an alternative pool service unless you like frustration, paying more than you have to, having service people show up without notice or communication prior, or being charge for parts that you didn’t approve replacing, or not being asked how you’d like to pay for your bill ( so never give them your credit card because they will charge you for things that you never approved). These are real Events and my experience with this company. You’ve been warned."

"You’ll never see a price tag on any product in that store for the simple fact they want you to bring everything up to the counter and run it through. The sticker shock is astronomical! For what they slickly sell you, you can purchase online at half the price. It’s such a deceiving practice it’s sickening."

"I had been a long-time customer of Pool Products Direct, until it was "sold" to Performance Pool & Spa last winter. "Justin Nelson" from Performance Pools emailed me this fall, offering to schedule a pool closing (for roughly twice what I had paid to Pool Products Direct, but I needed the service). Consistent with his email, which asked for a response "By E-mail: simply respond to this e-mail with your chosen date and services requested (or fill out and attach the form)," I emailed the date and services requested, but did not attach the form (because it was offered as an alternative). Because I received no response for 10 days, I emailed him again to confirm whether the closing had been scheduled. He responded that he could not schedule the closing until he had a credit card on file (which was on the form, but not required by his email). When I asked by email how I could provide the credit card by secure means, he suggested calling their office. When I responded that his initial message could have been made more clear to require the credit card, and that I was traveling and would call when I returned the following Wednesday, he responded by rudely stating he was pulling my file because I was too contentious and that I should find a different company. It was not until after this that I discovered this is the same company at which I attempted to purchase a seal for a Hayward pump, but declined because they charge 4 times what the same part cost on Amazon. Many people, and particularly pool services people, have been overworked and under significant stress recently. Nobody who runs a business, or is associated with the public, however, should behave in this manner. If you like high priced services provided by rude and unhelpful people, use this service."
