"John: I brought my 1976 crestliner to you to get the motor running. My daughter was going to pick it up for me to bring home. You gave her the wrong boat. Bill was $800 but you couldn't fix it. When you brought it back I just put it back in my shed. I went to winterize the motor the other day and the cover to the power pack with the rubber gasket was missing. It was new and cost me $225. All four of the plugs were not even finger tight in the heads and were all fouled. The boat tank you had the gasoline hooked to had a bad gasket and leaked Gas and pressure and you wouldn't be able to run the motor like that.. I told the guy when I brought it that it would start and run fine starting at with starting fluid and problem could be with the carbs and I gave him the 2 new gasket sets. I found the gaskets laying in water up where the controls come through. $60. You said it wouldn't run or ran on only 2 cylinders. Well I cleaned up the plugs and gave it a spray of starting fluid and it started within 1 second. I could see no evidence of parts being removed and put back on. You said you switched many parts to try to get it to run. The carbs were never removed nor repaired with the carb kits I brought. They switched hitches when my daughter picked it up because the boat you gave her had an 1 7/8 inch and mine is a 2 inch. Maybe you were thinking of what you did to that boat instead of mine when you gave me the $800 repair bill because now looking it over there was no way there was $800 worth of work done to it. Easy mistake to make since you didn't know which boat was mine. I will need the cover to the power pack and gasket you took off. Reassess the labor costs also. "Horrible!! brought my boat to them in April and they said it'll be done by mid June. They never called and gave updates or anything. Pickup up my boat at the end of October with nothing even done to it. If you need your boat fix find a different shop."
