Hygge Hideaway

"The good: no word art “live laugh love” Sam’s Club chic decor used. I love coming to a broken bow cabin but I not a fan of the usual decor. The china was pottery barn. Plenty of cute serving pieces. OXO kitchen tools. So better than the usual hodgepodge of kitchen accoutrements I usually encounter. And there seem to be 24 of everything. The bed and bedding were amazing. There was an under counter ice maker that is a great amenity. The views from the windows are fabulous. I did not use any of the club house services so I can’t speak to those but if you are busy it is nice have food delivered, groceries etc. The bad: I think this house is having foundation issues. There are huge cracks on the big wooden beams on the deck. The sliding door was almost impossible to open or close. The outdoor fireplace was inoperable, in fact the operation manual was in the fireplace. There was unexpected firewood provided for the fire pit so maybe that was to make up for the out of service fireplace? It smelled like sewage when the wind came from one direction. Luckily the wind was mostly blowing in other directions. Maybe a nearby septic tank is out of wack? The lake is an unnatural color like the “rivers” at 6-flags. I never saw anyone catch any fish the whole time we were there. I wonder if all the septic tanks nearby are putting too many “nutrients” in the pond. You might think I have mistaken weed for sewage. We smelled some of that too, lol and I assure you it was both different and coming from a different direction. If you want privacy this is probably not the cabin for you. It is located right across the pond from the clubhouse and people were walking by to get to the clubhouse as the bridge across was right under the cabin. We heard screaming/crying children, too tired to walk being carried by the cabin on 2 separate occasions. I would have liked a power strip on my nightstand so I didn’t have to do contortions to plug in my chargers. I would also enjoy a k cup machine with a big water reservoir. No big deal but a suggestion We paid more than usual for this cabin and not seeing “word art” decor made it worth it. If this cabin is a stretch financially and you want perfection for your hard earned dollar this is not it. I would stay here again in a heartbeat"
