N&E Apartments

"Location is great, but the actual apartment is expensive for what you get. The amenities are limited: the tiny bike room is not big enough for residents despite being advertised as a amenity to take advantage of and the coffee machine only runs until noon which is silly, considering that people still drink coffee past noon. They are also very unclear about the expenses taken out of your security deposit upon move-out. More than $100+ was taken out of my security deposit, despite having a spotless apartment with no damages. I was told that it was due to unpaid utilities. Utilities should be billed promptly and as a separate bill, instead of being taken out of the security deposit. Look elsewhere, as the price is not justified for what you get."

"Didn't receive my security deposit within the state law set time period, elevator is constantly broke, entryway smells like urine. The management staff is extremely friendly until you sign your lease & then you're viewed as a burden. The quality of care went down significantly over 2 years. Do yourself a favor & find another rental in the area not owned by Roers. I can't believe how many 5 star reviews this building has because this isn't how my neighbors for the last 2 years describe this place. There's been a mass exodus & a lot of complaints."

"I've been living here for over 6 months and I'm happy I picked this building. Staff are great--management is responsive and effective, and maintenance is super quick. The lobby and hallways are kept clean. The walls between units are well-soundproofed so I never hear my neighbors on either side. AC and heat actually work! This building is the most secure I've ever lived in. I work from home so I have an office setup in the corner of the living room and my 1BR unit still feels spacious. I appreciate the provided movable island with shelf space that I use as a pantry and dining room table. The appliances (dishwasher, washer, dryer, etc) are top-notch. There's a number of nice restaurants and shops within walking distance. From what I've experienced, other tenants are very nice. I love my balcony and the glorious view of downtown! The only things I'd change are 1) giving mail carriers easier access to the mail room so they don't have to wait to be let in or leave packages in the outer lobby and 2) for management to require that dogs are compatible with apartment living. My calm, senior rescue dog and I have had some scary encounters with a few highly reactive dogs that should NOT be living in any large building with other dogs coming and going. I've lived in buildings that successfully screen dogs for temperament and it creates a more comfortable environment for everyone. Overall, I'm happy here and other residents seem to enjoy living here as well!"

"Just moved into N & E recently and honestly, not sure I could have picked a better apartment community to live. I was running out of time to find a place to stay before moving to start a new job. I stumbled upon N & E and was immediately impressed with how well their leasing consultant, Angie, communicated with me. She was beyond professional and helpful on the phone and provided far more assistance than every person I had talked to on the phone at other apartment complexes. There was some logistical concerns with my move that needed to be ironed out most apartments didn't want to deal with, but Angie took the time and extra effort to ensure that I could move into the apartment I wanted. Arriving on the lot, I was greeted by the Property Manager, Jenny -- who took great care of me! She made sure my move-in was smooth and I had everything I needed Both women foster an environment that is welcoming and friendly! Highly recommend living here, you will not regret your decision! *UPDATE* I've lived here for two months now and honestly, I'm not sure I want to leave haha. The staff is amazing and so attentive to our needs and ensuring the building is in wonderful condition. For me, it's the perfect distance from work and from the rest of my friends in the Minneapolis area. It's just far enough from downtown you still feel part of the city, but not part of all the "hustle & bustle". I think anyone looking to move to Minneapolis, but wants to avoid the headache of downtown living (noise, traffic, etc.) this is the perfect place to live. Also, really great pizza place down the street you'll have to try!"

"I've lived at N&E for almost 9 months now and have had a great experience. Everyone on the staff is extremely friendly and always ready to say hi to me and my dog. The common spaces are always clean, it's close to a lot of places to get take out, and I can easily get to the bike/walking trail system down the street. The views of the old brewery buildings and downtown are amazing. Overall, I'm really happy I moved here!"
