"I had the pleasure of attending several the parent classes program called circle of healing and other workshops targeted for women in abusive cycle in the community. The programs were organized and facilitated by experienced & licensed professionals in the mental health industry with more then 45 years of experience. I felt welcomed, relieved and gained clear understanding of my thoughts & feelings and I plan attending more programs. There’s stigma in minority communities such as the Somali community and taking the initiative to promote the wellbeing and mental health advocacy of Somali women is powerful, empowering them to speak up as many are suffering silence. growing generations including myself are encouraged to be silent in domestic abuse in relationships. It’s time for Somali women to speak & take up space, taking the first step & seek help for themselves & loved ones is critical. It’s never too late before your safety & your children are at risk.
