"This hike is pretty short but also pretty steep and comprised of loose rock and dirt. The view from the Sphinx is very nice. Park on the road where Google Maps says the trailhead is; there was also a stack of rocks there to note the trail's presence."
"While the hike is short (.3 miles one way) it's straight up the hill. The view is worth it in my opinion though. There is a trail, and it's clear and easy to follow, but it's also very overgrown so bring lots of bug spray."
"Came to see the Sphinx, but loved the view even more! What I thought would be a leisurely hike of 15-20 minutes turned into a 45 minute hike up(which includes several breathers). Make sure you bring plenty of water unlike myself. 10/10 view, 3/10 hike."
"We were looking for a hike near Clarksville, Arkansas with a great view and this hike was perfect! No official parking, so just pulled off to the side of the road. There is an “S” spray painted on a tree where the trailhead starts. Lots of bio diversity (can you spot the stick bug in one of my photos!?). Steep and narrow trail. Sphinx rock is v cool, view over the valley v v cool. We hiked farther up to the ridge and sat on a larger rock face/ledge. Had a zen minute of silence noticing new things (highly recommend). There is a geocache that we stumbled upon (cool!) so bring a trinket or something to stash away if you’re reading before coming. Beautiful views of the valley, plateaus, trees, and you can even see the Arkansas Nuclear One plant (binoculars recommended). Even if you don’t make the hike, I hope you enjoy your life and love yourself and others!"
"2 hour drive from Fayetteville. This place googles well. The trailhead is up the hill and around the corner of suggested parking. Its steep and rugged trail but worth it."
