"This store use to be a favorite of mine. But now there is a new employee that has been hired that can be a real hand full. My sister and I were doing a little shopping for house products around 7:30 pm - 7:40 pm and were trying to get in and out in time to be back home for dinner. When we were finished and were ready to check out, a nice young hispanic lady was trying to check us out but was having trouble with the system. So she got us over to the next employee, an older black lady. She was standing talking to what look like her daughter and grandchild when we first arrived and was still talking to them when we left. Since the other lady couldn't get her register to work, it was up to the older black lady to check us out. Now I've worked in customer service for about 9 years and I take it very serious because that is how an establishment keeps their customers. But anyway, she did not greet us and she acted as if we were inconveniencing her by having to come to her register. She was ringing up my items with a very unpleasent look on her face as if she wanted to be doing anything else. And also made a kind of snarky remark to my little sister as she was putting our items on the counter. I really didn't understand what her problems was and was not trying to find out. Just like she wasn't really trying to ring her customers (my sister and I) up. She was too busy trying to finish her conversation with her daughter I guess. It makes no sense that me being 6 months pregnant, to have to go all the way to the supermarket (Wal-Mart) to use a self checkout, instead of being able to go to my local and very close Family Dollar because I don't want to deal with attitudes from someone who should be doing their job with a smile. I'll probably just go to the Dollar General further down the street to get and evenly rude experience but at a cheaper price."

"Everything is in order and clean customer service is good. they tend to have system shut down sometimes, thats not the employees or manager fault but the company itself they need to upgrade their system. But overall its good i rate it three bc of family dollar computer system shutdown problem."
