"So I hired Herman on 3 occasions to help with projects from interior decorating my home. The first time he came out we agreed on a certain hourly rate. Did everything and all was good. Had him come out a 2nd time and do some additional projects again at the agreed up hourly rate. Had him come out a 3rd time and do more projects and he sends me an invoice not at our agreed upon hourly rate but at a per project basis. Apparently I had the audacity to simply ask why the invoice was different than the first two times he came out because Herman proceeds to lecture me about how busy he is and how he could be getting double the hourly rate HE agreed to the first two times out. Not once did he mention the change in pricing structure so how was I to assume the pricing now changed. He got all mad because I simply asked him to at least tell me before the projects start if there is a price change so I can then make an informed decision on whether i want to move foward. To simply change the price retroactively after the project is done is very unprofessional in my opinion. What is most disappointing is the attitude and lecturing I received from him simply because I wanted clarification on the invoice. So good luck in dealing with that!!"

"I cannot say enough about how fortunate we were to have Herman bring our rental property from a state of disrepair to a home that, well felt like a home to be proud to own. As Landlords, my wife and I had always had the plan to sell the home at the end of the rental contract, but Herman really had us seriously reconsider because of the quality of work he had done! Only because we reside in Canada and we cannot cross the border for an undetermined period of time, we begrudgingly decided that it was best to sell our home after the project. Herman treats his projects like it is his own project. He makes recommendations and decisions that strikes the right balance of quality at the right price. The thoughtful planning he puts into doing a job well was evident throughout the project; he saw around corners, anticipating things before it even entered our minds. One day, I recall in the middle of our project, Herman suffered an injury that would have otherwise had others call it a day. Not Herman, he had to get things done before he took care of himself! Crazy guy! (in a good way) Herman kept us updated along the way on the stage of the project, as well as the costs incurred. There were no surprises because at the onset we talked about the Must Do, Should Do, and Could Do items. Thank you Herman for making this such a smooth and easy project for us. Even though we are 1500 miles away, we felt that we were there with you. Your are a trusted advisor!"
