John (Ziyang) Liu, MD

John (Ziyang) Liu, MD is a board-certified doctor specializing in Hematology & Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine. Located at 13055 West McDowell Road in Avondale, Arizona, Dr. Liu is a second-generation Chinese American who is fluent in both English and Chinese. He earned his medical degree from the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico Health System. Dr. Liu went on to complete a fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at the University of Florida.

Specializing in lung, head & neck malignancies, myeloma & lymphoma, and hematologic disorders, Dr. Liu is actively involved in both translational and clinical research. He has published in well-recognized, peer-reviewed journals and has presented at national meetings. Dr. Liu is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology, and is currently an investigator in research trials.

Some of Dr. Liu's research includes topics such as post-autologous stem cell transplantation engraftment syndrome, marginal zone lymphoma-associated antiphospholipid antibodies, and the promotion of gastric epithelial cell proliferation by Helicobacter pylori FKBP-type PPIase.
