About the Business
The Downtown Phoenix Information Center, located at 1 East Washington Street in Phoenix, Arizona, serves as both an art gallery and a travel agency. Operated by Downtown Phoenix Inc., the center is home to the DTPHX Ambassadors, a team dedicated to ensuring visitors have a safe and enjoyable experience in Downtown Phoenix.
The Ambassadors are on duty seven days a week, providing assistance such as walking visitors to their cars, handing out free water and sunscreen, and offering directions. They can be easily identified by their orange shirts with "ASK ME" on the back. In addition to hospitality services, the Ambassadors also offer social services outreach for individuals experiencing homelessness, connecting them to support services and working to eliminate barriers to permanent housing.
The Downtown Core, where the Ambassadors operate, spans from Seventh Street to Third Avenue, and from Fillmore Street to the Union Pacific tracks south of Jackson Street. "We were fortunate to go on a group tour of Phoenix with Angelica and Kristine. They were both very welcoming and informative. Angelica who lead the group conveyed her love of the city and of its history. They both brought us through the city answering all our questions and balanced the tour with the needs of the group and allowed us to experience several highpoints along the way. We enjoyed the Phoenix police museum, Wells Fargo Museum, lunch at Friday's overlooking the ballpark and then to St. Mary's Basilica in the afternoon.
