Mammoth Steak House and Saloon

"I was really excited to visit here. I heard the food was wonderful and the view was amazing. Well, the view was amazing and the restaurant decor was neat. As for the rest, I was disappointed. The prices were quite high, but from the descriptions on the menu, it sounded worth it. My son and I wanted to try the burger and chicken sandwich that said it had sautéed mushrooms, onions and pepperjack cheese. The menu was deceiving in its description. The pepperjack was not real pepperjack cheese, but American style white cheese. The onions were soggy and the mushrooms are canned (even cold to the touch). The chicken had no seasoning and they only give you a packet of mayonnaise to add to your sandwich. The fries were only okay at best and did not come out hot. My other son did try the pulled pork bbq and the meat was decent, but small for the cost. My daughter got the chicken tenders and the were mostly breaded and not as much meat. Plus, for $14 and being an adult portion, she only got 3 peices. They only serve $3 bottled water (no free tap water) and paid for drinks, so it's sad they charge so much per bottle. For 4 people, with no drinks mind you, I paid $70 for terrible food and we all left still hungry. The bathrooms were gross and had no soap to wash my hand. I do not recommend this place. Have fun and go eat somewhere else."

"The Potato Skins were not very good, and you only receive 4 skins per order. The Pulled Pork sandwich is horrible, there was hardly any meat, there was barely enough French fries to cover the bottom of the food tray. And, it took almost an hour to receive our food, then the Bill came, $140, what a joke!! Don’t be fooled, Trust the reviews, Eat somewhere else!!!"

"OK menu selection. We got appetizers and thought they were a little pricey for the size of the order; they were good Thought the price of for a glass of soda was pricey - $4.95. Server was friendly, cool atmosphere, and nice view of Superstition Mountain."

"The decor and atmosphere were great. Prices are reasonable. No hours posted and was hard to tell if it was open. Our server was great. Unfortunately the food was worse than Denny's. Had the Mammoth chicken sandwich. The bun was cold, dry, and stale, the chicken unseasoned, and the Carmelized onions and mushrooms were just unrecognizable slime. Husband had a grilled cheese sandwich that he said was just ok. The three of us left a little disappointed in our lunch choice."

"I had read in a hiking review that after you spend all day hiking in the Lost Dutchman State Park you have to go across the road and eat dinner here. I took that advice and was very happy with the steak I ordered. I highly recommend this place, it's actually a good restaurant inside a roadside tourist attraction."
