"So I went to Simon med Spectrum Gilbert AZ for my Dexa scan, Mammogram, and Calcium CT scan. Everything was going good til I got to my Calcium CT Scan then I sat in the back waiting area from 0830-0940. Waiting in their pink half gown freaking freezing and feeling so uncomfortable. The CT tech kept taking all these other people past me for their appointments. I was so uncomfortable and I felt so ridiculous in their gown. Finally, I got up got dressed and asked why I hadn’t been seen and discovered my appt was at 0950. I thought my appointments were consecutive but apparently they weren’t and the tech didn’t bother to squeeze me in so I ended up waiting till 10:20 to be seen. Then the CT tech was rude. I was not too sweet either after waiting for nearly 2 hours. There are some quality of some techs but then there was one that was very rude and the ladies upfront could careless but they will surely respond with “we can reschedule you.” Simon med and its employees definitely don’t value your time. Reconsider going to this location for a CT Scan."
"The last two times I have had imaging done with the Sun Lakes SimonMed, I was turned away at the time of my appointment because they didn’t have the machinery to do the image that I was there for. What I don’t understand is how they make an appointment at a location that doesn’t have the equipment to do what the order called for. No one is checking appointments/orders to make sure they match with the equipment at the location the appointment was made at. No one had an answer for me, all excuses. I left messages and never got a response to make sure this doesn’t keep happening in the future. I will be doing all I can to go to another imaging center from here on out. I gave two stars instead of one because the employees who had no control over the situation were very kind and didn’t make excuses and apologized. Do better, SimonMed! We and our insurance companies are paying a lot of money for your services and customer service should be a priority. Seems like an easy fix."
"I needed some quick X-rays of my foot, so I went directly from the doctors office to SimonMed. I handed them my paperwork, and by the time I had signed a few forms, my name was called. The technician was very efficient, and I was out of there before I knew what had happened! Great job all around."
"I received a text that my doctor had sent test orders to SimonMed. Though the text claimed patients can set appointments up online, I was not able to. Not a big deal to make a phone call, until I discovered that SimonMed fails to hire anyone to answer their phones who actually has a brain in their head. I kept getting put on hold as the person on the other end of the line attempted to find an appointment time. She then came back on the line and stated that I needed 2 appointments. I had 1 order from my doctor. Not having done this type of procedure before, I told her to go ahead and book the 2 appointments, and she did so with them back to back. She instructed me that I was to fast for 4 hours before my appointment, and to arrive 45 minutes early. There was an issue with my insurance so I ended up having to call SimonMed a second time. This time a gentleman answered the phone and I couldn't understand or hear him. It sounded like he was on a bad cell phone connection. (Maybe these people work out of their homes?) He kept mumbling stuff about code numbers and things I don't care about or concern me, and stated that he didn't know why I had 2 appointments for one order. Apparently he asked a supervisor who confirmed I did not need 2 appointments, only 1. A few days later I logged into SimonMed online and it was not showing that I had an upcoming appointment. I had to call a 3rd time. I spoke to a woman who assured me that I had an appointment, there must just be a "glitch" in the system. The day before my appointment I received a reminder phone call from a younger sounding woman. She stated I should arrive 20 minutes early and to drink as much water as possible...Which was the opposite of what the original scheduler had told me who stated I was to arrive 45 minutes early and to fast completely for 4 hours. The woman who contacted me with the reminder left a voicemail as I was not able to answer, and stated that I could call back with questions, but of course failed to leave a phone number. I was not calling the general number back for SimonMed because everyone I spoke to told me something different. Likewise, when logging into my SimonMed account online, there were ZERO prep instructions with the exception of stating I needed to arrive 15 minutes early. After the reminder voicemail, I also received an automated message stating I should be there 15 minutes early. Completely fed up, I had to call my doctor's office, sit on hold for 10 minutes until they could get a Medical Assistant on the phone, told her what was happening, and she was the one who was able to give me accurate instructions on what to do to prep for this particular test. I was already having major issues with my insurance authorizing this test and SimonMed made something as stupid as scheduling an appointment WAY more stressful than it needed to be. They get ZERO starts for their schedulers. As for the appointment itself, I was presently surprised that everything was running exactly on time at the Spectrum location. The employees were pleasant enough. I have no issue with this particular location, but it sure would be nice if you could call a location directly instead of just one number for SimonMed because those people likely couldn't even tell you the time if you asked. Totally and utterly incompetent."
"I am so extremely grateful for the x-ray tech that saw my son last night. She was leaving for the night when we got there and chose to come back inside and did his imaging. She was absolutely amazing with him and I just can’t say how thankful I am to her for going out of her way to help us and get him seen."
