L&L Hawaiian BBQ - Tucson

"We saw a sign for Hawaiian Barbecue while driving, and made a B-line for the restaurant. In town we haven't found any good places to go for authentic Hawaiian barbecue... until now! My best friend is Hawaiian and Japanese, and this restaurant is the real thing. It's not all "Hawaiian Pizza" americanized, which was a HUGE bonus for us! The food was so good! 1000/10 I will be back. We ordered both the spicy and regular Spam Musubi, the Beef teriyaki plate, a hamburger and the kalua pork plate. Everything was so good and extremely well priced. My favorite thing had to be the side of Macaroni salad, which they make daily. *secret tip, add soy sauce to it to give you that full Hawaiian flavor* Every single item we ate was full of flavor and truly well made. You have to try this place! Also, they hand make their Hawaiian BBQ sauce... IT'S SO GOOD!! I wish they sold bottles of it!"

"I had to add my foot in this photo because we are waiting in the car for them to open!! We came at 4:00 and the owner who is really sweet informed us that they ran out of food due to unexpected popularity! She told us they had macaroni salad & pork bun so we opted for that while we wait in the car. As we sat here waiting we saw about 30 people trying to eat here as well, then noticed the sign. Some are still waiting, like us. I can tell you from the couple things we ate to tide us over was fabulous! Pork bun, perfect. You can tell if it's going to be good with the macaroni salad, has to be done Hawaiian style & it did not disappoint!! So we wait until 5. She (owner) is doing most of the work with family it looks like, so give her a little break if the place runs out of things. She told us how shocked she was to be so busy & she stayed late last night over prepping & somehow still ran out of stuff. That means it's worth it!! Also, she is hiring if anyone is looking!"

"1st off, the atmosphere is super welcoming. As soon as you enter, you are greeted with friendly Hawaiian music. We talked with the owner. She said they just opened on 8 Dec 23. She was very friendly and helped us choose the right dishes for us. My wife got the Loco moco, and I got spicy lava chicken. Both dishes were made really well and exceeded expectations. Be aware of the door dash pictures on the Google listing as after talking to the owner all of the "doordash storefront" pictures are not L&L's dishes. Overall, we will be coming back routinely!! 10/10"

"My husband, who is from Hawaii, and I were very excited to discover an L&L has opened up in the past month in Tucson (around December 2023). We immediately beelined for the restaurant to have dinner. The service was very friendly, by the owners -- two sisters. The food was fresh cooked. We had sweet potato fries, teriyaki chicken, and marinated short ribs. Since I'm gluten-free they substituted a small salad for the macaroni salad. Everything was really tasty. Lots of people came in after we did so we know it's already popular. The ambiance is very casual and there's a number of tables to sit at. One of the owner's surfboards helps decorate the restaurant. Plenty of parking. We'll be back!"
