"We ordered the dimsum around 4pm, it tasted old and so different from the photo on the review. The duck was good, the food was hot and slightly on the bland side. Service was okay, we were rushed to order our food. The speaker was bad, loud and had bad noise."
"Pros: + authentic (enough) food + fresh and hot food + true dim sum carts + menu has many options + many Chinese cantonese guests + reasonable price Cons - small portions - limited selection on carts - very busy on weekends - inattentive staff (makes it more authentic?) Summary Great dim sum place in a heavy Asian concentrated area. Busy but worth it."
"I like their dim sum better than Phoenix Palace, but both are good. There are some menu item differences, but I prefer the flavor and items at Mekong. Mekong has fried shrimp balls that are heavenly. Their regular menu items are also good. They have very good southern/Hong Kong Chinese dishes, such as char siu and pan-fried crispy egg noodles. Their black pepper steak is also one of my favorites due to using cubed pieces of steak, compared to most places that use strips/slices. It's extremely busy during "peak" dim sum hours at opening (10:30am-12pm), so plan accordingly. While dim sum carts do circulate around, you'll need to be proactive with flagging them down due to how busy it can get. It may seem a bit frustrating, but that's how dim sum rolls. It does mean getting a water/drink refill can be challenging though."
"Had a very yummy first visit at Mekong Palace. They didn’t have as many choices as I was hoping for, but I think it’s because we went around 1pm and Dim Sum stops at 3pm. The ladies bringing the food around were very nice and did their best to describe what each item was. I really loved the egg noodles, the bean curd skin rolls and the baked custard buns. I’ll be dreaming about the baked custard buns for a while"
