About the Business

Casa Reynoso is a beloved family-owned Mexican food institution located at 3138 South Mill Avenue in Tempe, Arizona. Since 1938, the Reynoso family has been serving up their old-style Mexican dishes to the people of Arizona. At Casa Reynoso, the emphasis is on using fresh, high-quality ingredients to create traditional, made-from-scratch meals that remind diners of home-cooked dishes from their own grandmothers. The family takes pride in sharing their recipes with the community and ensuring that every visitor feels like they are part of the family. "I’m on a lifelong quest to find the world’s best chimichanga, and my quest led me here, to Casa Reynoso Tempe. On my universal 13 point scale of chimichanga deliciousness, this bean and cheese chimi scored an 8 out of 13. Not terrible, but not great. And here’s why. The tortilla was more dry than crispy, if that makes sense. It was pretty flour dense, which means it had the consistency of dried out cardboard instead of that flaky crunchiness one might expect from a properly deep fried burrito. The beans were pretty good, nice and moist and flavorful, but the presentation was completely two dimensional. Brown and green are not the best complimentary colors, FYI. A little pico de gallo would’ve gone a long way to improve this dish. It’s safe to say, Casa Reynoso does not serve up the best chimichanga I’ve found. Not even close. The guac was pretty good, fresh and chunky and seasoned nicely, but the $6.75 upcharge for a chimi left me feeling ripped off and wanting a whole lot more. Additionally, every table gets one ‘free’ bowl of chips, and each one after is $1. Make it one free bowl per person, Reynoso, otherwise you run the risk of looking as cheap as your food. I’ve been wanting to try this place for ages. And my first visit did extremely little to impress. I won’t be back. Adios!"

"We got the last option in the combo section, want to try everything. The taste is amazing, the beans, burros and tacos, all flavors mixed together. We also got Pina colada, it tastes more like smoothies instead of cocktail. I am not a drink person, ending up I really like it! The only regret is I feel the bruttio can have more fillings. I eat only tortilla no any meat. We come around 6:30 on weekdays, about 20mins waiting. The salsa is a bit spicy."

"I've been going to Casa Reynoso for over 15 years. I love this place so much, I had my wedding rehearsal dinner here. I love this place So Much, I drag any friend or family member visiting from out of town here to try some Good Mexican food. I love this place SO MUCH! While over the years I've tried much of their menu, my standard meal is a bean and cheese burrito, enchilada style (red), with a beef taco and a side of rice. One day, I hope to convince JoAnne to add it to the menu as a Jenny Special ;) (Picture below taken post-taco because I was too impatient!)"

"My family visits Casa Reynoso all the time and this was my first time. I can see why they keep coming back for more. The staff was great, the atmosphere is nice and the food is stellar! They serve authentic Mexican cuisine!"

"This is a great place to eat. The food is delicious, the closest thing to authentic homemade Mexican food. I had a regular burro enchilada style with a side of rice. My daughter had a pork tamale with the sauce on the side and beans. My friend had a chicken burrito chimichanga and beef taco. Start it off with a cheese crisp. Yummy!"
