Safeway

"They are in the Bait and Switch business. They are VERY frequently out of AD items. Today is Friday and they advertised for Friday/ Saturday/ Sunday ONLY, the Lucerne dozen eggs 2/$5.00 and also strawberries 2/ $5.00. I was at the store at 9:00AM and they're out of these two sale items. Got plenty of eggs for $4.99 a dozen but none at the sale price. This happens weekly. As for the strawberries, there wasn't even a spot for them. Just none to be found. Don't even get me started on the advertised meat items. I won't buy anything but chicken at Safeway because all of their beef, particularly if it's on sale, is tough and grisly. Not to mention the sullen meat cutter by the name of Michael. I just call him 'Surly". I'm not sure what happened to Safeway. They used to have wonderful service and quality meat. Not anymore."

"This is a great second choice for a grocery store in Sierra Vista. This is my second choice because I prefer Fry's. Fry's usually has better pricing but it is definitely more crowded. If I just want a quick visit and they have some good sale pricing I will shop here. The store is usually clean and in stock and the help is friendly. I visited the deli counter yesterday and the lady who worked there was so sweet and helpful! They only have about six registers for self checkout and Fry's has about 24. Big difference if this is something important to you!"

"Had some quality issues w/ a pickup order. The man I spoke to was questioning me in a way that seemed like grilling &i had to over explain/ go back & fourth w him about each thing. The package of bread had a line of what looked like hot glue or dried candle wax stuck to it tht had melted thru the plastic packaging in a spot, a rotten apple, and 2 avocados that were selected as organic but were not. First he told me hmm that's strange I'm the person who picked your order & I remember definitely picking those avocados from the organic bin. I had to go back & fourth with him, mentioning i had a pic of item sticker, he does something on his end &then says oh wait yeah I see here the organic was sold out so the non organic was selected.... So he lied in the beginning, it felt like he was trying to gaslight me into thinking I was crazy about tht in order to not go thru w/ the refund of those items or something, idk. Then had to go back &fourth about the bread as well, again felt like was being grilled about it. The whole call was just uncomfortable, I would have been fine bringing the items back to exchange or return them but I've been told I'm the past they don't allow that so the refund is the only other option. The prices are much too artificially inflated for me to be able to afford to pay for damaged items. I've had issues here with food and produce quality and this was kind of the last straw so will be trying to avoid shopping here as much as I can in the future."

"Gina in shopping/delivery is the best. I made an online order to be delivered to my elderly mother on her B-day. I told Gina most delivery drivers leave the items on her door step and ice cream melts etc. Gina had the delivery driver not only make sure my mother answered her knock but wished her Happy Birthday and took the items inside. My mother was so impressed!! Thank You Safeway-Gina and the wonderful delivery woman for making my mother's Birthday very special. And the flowers I ordered are beautiful!!"

"Even though the store is old I will continue to shop here for the fresh produce, decent meat selection, and organic products. The biggest factor that keeps me returning is the great service from the staff who retrieve and sanitize the carts and assisting the active and not so active older adults using them. We all know how the carts get stuck and the outside staff members are very alert in greeting, sanitizing, and keeping the parking lot clean. KUDOS SAFEWAY FOR BUILDING CUSTOMER RELATIONS! I hope this service continues as the customer base appreciates the extra efforts to keep us all safe from any type of virus or bacteria! And to have someone greet you by name…we will be back!
