Black Bear Diner

"The kids and I decided to dine in instead of take out. The atmosphere inside was cute with old diner charms like music jutebox. Service was a little slow in getting food but the server was very attentive/polite. Food was good as always. The son ordered the blackberry french toast which was very good. Daughter and I had omelettes which were also good. If you get a biscuit for bread just know they are BIG! Definitely recommend."

"Service was extremely poor!! First they put us on a dirty table, Was not even busy they put everyone on one side of the restaurant. They took at least 10 minutes to ask for our drinks, when I asked for coffee waitress didn't even give me a spoon! Our food came out almost 30-40 minutes after we ordered. They barely checked on us. Waiter was conversing with manager about not getting tips while finally cleaning tables. Food was ok."

"We prefer food to go when we were home in Houston so we decided to eat in for my birthday! The food was AWESOME. This will be my breakfast spot when I'm in Arizona! Update 1.13.24 We returned this morning for breakfast. There was a 20 minute wait! It took the waitress way too long to come to our table and take our drink order. I noticed a lady and two young girls who were seated abpu 15 minutes before us hadnt had their drink order taken either. When the waitress came we ordered our drinks diet coke and coffee and thought it would be best to order or food.l, and she alsofinally got the other tables drink order. Took another 10 minutes to get our drinks,(both tables). As always, the food was delicious. We will continue to frequent this restuarant as long as the quality of the food doesn't change. The French toast was AMAZING! My husband had the omelet and he LOVED it! COOKS: Keep up the great work!"

"We came to pheonix to purchase a camper and on the way back to Tucson we stopped here to grab a bite to eat. We arrived 45 minutes before close and the server seemed a bit annoyed which is understandable since it was almost closing time BUT she did keep our drinks full, provided extra napkins for the Littles and checked in frequently so we left a 30% tip to compensate for coming so late. The food was good. I got the chicken Cobb salad, my fiancee had the bacon cheeseburg salad and the kids had the bear pancake and all of it was delicious. The house made bacon ranch is to die for! All in all if we're ever in the pheonix area again we will definitely stop off here again for a bite to eat and make sure it's way before close!"

"Place inside was clean, bathrooms could use some refreshing. No toilet seat covers in any stalls. Limited toilet paper stocked, and toilet paper on ground. Food was good but the biscuits and gravy lacked flavor, it was very bland. But other than that I’d say everything else was good!"
