"I was so excited to find an authentic Mexican restaurant established in the 1950’s but… was overall disappointed. The rolled tacos were delicious, crispy, meaty, very good but small. The guacamole is delicious. The quesadillas was a large tortilla with about 6 real steak chunks and cheese. That’s it, that was the whole thing and would have expected more paying over $10 for it. The spicy queso was disgusting… it tasted like, well, nothing mostly, aside from an occasional bite of spice."

"Our first time here and the young lady taking our order was very friendly and helpful. The food was quite good as were the Margaritas. The dining area feels a bit cafeteria-ish but very comfortable and clean."

"It's been some time since I've eaten at Chile Pepper. I usually go to its sister restaurant on the north end. But, we were in the neighborhood and decided to get one of their protein bowls. These bowls are jam packed with beans, squash, rice, and your choice of meat. I normally order the beef bowl but the adobo chicken is delicious. I also ordered a corn on the cob which was prepared amazingly. Chile Pepper is definitely a must visit if you're here for business, pleasure or if you haven't visited in more than a year."

"This time visitng I was disappointed. Used restroom, no soap. Told staff at counter. They told a manager and their response was "dispenser is broken". A lady let me use the woman's bathroom to wash my hands. Ordered 1 green and 1 red mix chili con carne burritos. They were both so bland. Taquitos with guac were basic. Elote was best item. A little over seasoned for my taste but still devoured it. More than likely won't return. Restaurant is not what it used to be. What a shame."

"The bean and cheese burrito is great the elotes was good! I tried the enchilada and it was over sauced and chicken was dry. The chips and cheese, chips are hard. Horchatas I liked but some of my family didn’t enjoy the grit of it. I ordered a spiked Mangonado, it was only half full and I had to ask for the tamarind candy. I was expecting fresh mango, chamoy, Tajin and topped with the tamarind candy. It was definitely mid. I will come back for bean and cheese burritos, and the cheese sauce but nothing else."
