Wichita Riding Academy, located at 10727 East 39th Street South in Derby, Kansas, has been a staple in the community since 1983. With 40 years of experience, we offer lessons for riders as young as 4 years old all the way up to World Champion Equine Riders. Our institution boasts the largest lesson program in the state with 6 instructors on staff, providing lessons 7 days a week year-round.
In addition to lessons, we offer boarding options including pasture, lot, and stall boarding, as well as equine training services. Our facility features a large indoor arena, multiple outdoor arenas, and round pens, catering to riders of all skill levels.
Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned rider, we offer both private and group lessons to help you achieve your equestrian goals. Our staff has over 100 years of combined experience and can create a custom training program for your horse, tailored to your specific needs.

"I used to take riding lessons here many years ago and it was always so much fun. WRA showed me so many things. Examples include how to care for horses, being responsible, along with so much more. Miss. Manahan was very patient with me and made sure I was understanding what was being taught to me. I know there were times I was a bit of a pistol for her, but, she was still patient with me. She was and still is always encouraging myself back then and current students to always do better. This place taught me alot back then and it gave me an insight to what I want to do with my future. "My son had his 6th Birthday Party at Wichita Riding Academy, all the kids had a great time! The staff was very polite & professional. The horses and ponies were perfect for our group. Safety was definitely a priority, all riders were outfitted with proper helmets and the horses and ponies were tacked up appropriately. All the animals we came across were happy, obviously loved and well taken care of. Would highly recommend, thank you for a great experience!"
"we love it here! The owner and all of the instructors are amazing (Lillie is my grandsons favorite) we both ride in the lesson program and I also lease one of the horses and I love coming in everyday and seeing everyone. the riding facility itself is amazing, the indoor is perfect for days you cant use the outdoor. they provide everything you need for all aspects of caring for the horses and riding. the lesson horses are all spectacular and patient. I wouldn't want to ride anywhere else."
"This is a wonderful place for horse riding lessons as well as for day camps. They have amazing instructors and great programs for all ages. My daughter had never ridden a horse before and she did a day camp here in December. She got to experience everything from riding to complete horse care which includes scooping poop! It was a great lesson, my daughter learned so much! I definitely recommend riding lessons here. The can do individual or group lessons."
