"I love tornadoes and i wanted to see how much it was gonna be....i might consider doing there tour in the near future."
"2022 Review As my last review was written in 2017, I thought I would quickly update with my last visit. And the good thing is that nothing has changed at all, if not it's better. There has been a lot of press about chase tour safety in light with recent events with other companies and I can safely say that Brandon’s safety ethic is second to none. It is also abundantly clear that the single vehicle approach is the best from speaking to other guests during my two weeks. The fact that multiple vans can a) get lost from each other, b) rest breaks instead of five minutes can be easily quadruple due to a lack of facilities, c) try getting thirty people served in a restaurant versus eight in under an hour, d) same goes for accommodation getting everyone in the same hotel. The more people, the more complications. Mother nature didn’t play during my two weeks visit but I still got copious amount of lightning, decent sized hail, 70mph winds plus, funnel clouds and with ten days out of twelve being spent chasing, not a bad return! I will re-emphasise the day will leave you tired (as with any sort of travel) if it’s a long haul, but you do get a road trip (only visited eleven states during my time). Also there now is the added bonus of co-pilot Trischa’s excellent photographic skills and tuition that have helped me get some of the best lightning shots I have ever got (cheers again!). More importantly, both Brandon and Trischa are great people with a great sense of humour. If you are unsure, I urge you to have a go and after seeing the sights I have seen over the last six years you will not be disappointed. It’s quite telling that out of the two tours I was on, the vast majority were return visitors. That says something. 2017 Review In the two years that I have travelled with Brandon I have seen more sights then frankly did with a prior tour company. For those who are unsure about which company to book with, go with Storm Chasing Tour. Everything is set up for comfort be it the comfortable clean hotels that we stayed at, no fast food at all (except one day when we went to Subway at everyone's request so that we could see a storm), free drinks and snacks, pillows if you want a nap, seatbelt cushions, power to each bench, free Wi-Fi, plenty of stops to stretch your legs. I could go on. The education is phenomenal - I learnt so much I actually had a go at forecasting on the day (much to everyone's amusement - got a B+!). And more importantly it is one van so it makes things that more easier in a logistical sense. I will warn that at times you will have long days and do a lot of miles (800 in one day for me as an example) but that can be the same for every tour company. And the most important thing at all - at NO TIME did I feel unsafe. Even at 1/4 mile distant from an EF2 I knew I was in capable hands. And sampling the hail core is something you have to do and as Brandon owns his own van, he can do that and frequently does! And you see some sights as well. Devil's Tower in Wyoming to erm Carhenge, Alliance Nebraska in 2018. Want to see some Buffalo whilst we're waiting for a storm, yes why not! The storms themselves are just amazing with the hail greenish-blue colour being my particular favourite. The set up is great, Brandon knows his weather, there is a lot of fun and you get what you pay for, I'll be back next year and simply can't wait for that. It's says on his Google Link - The Vacation of a Lifetime. I got that on my first year!"
