About the Business

Purler Wrestling

Purler Wrestling, located at 7710 Southeast Moore Road in Holt, Missouri, is a renowned institution focused on health through the sport of wrestling. All wrestlers looking to attend practices must register online, as there are currently no free trials available. Headed by the highly skilled and technical coach Tony Purler, this academy offers a unique opportunity for wrestlers to learn from one of the best in the field.

Having trained under Tony Purler at Clarion University, I can attest to his exceptional attention to detail and technical expertise. Tony's reputation as one of the greatest amateur wrestlers to come out of Missouri is well-deserved, and his coaching style is both exciting and effective. As a mentor, Tony provides invaluable guidance to wrestlers looking to succeed at the state and national levels.

Parents have driven long distances to bring their children to Purler Wrestling practices, recognizing the significant impact that just a few hours of training can have on their skills. Unlike other coaches who simply teach moves, Tony focuses on teaching wrestlers how to truly wrestle with proper positioning and technique. This approach has helped countless wrestlers, including myself, secure college scholarships and achieve success in the sport.

"Tony is amazing!! He built up my 7 year old and my only regret is not sending my college wrestler to him. Tony coaches like Cael Sanderson. Tony is a winner and if you take your kid here they will be a winner. Living here in Missouri I feel so fortunate to be close to his home training camp. Tony is a GOAT! We love him and what he’s done for Conor. Not everyone can coach but Tony has that gift. He’s not mean but supportive. His training is top notch."

"My son has attended summer camps with Tony as well as participated with the PWA; the attention to detail on teaching techniques is exceptional. His coaching style is a no nonsense approach that cultivates the athletes competitiveness and desire to improve to win."

"My son has been attending Tony's weekly sessions on the off season for two years. We have also sent our son to multiple wrestling camps Tony hosts over the summer months. Our son started "late" in the sport and in an effort to try and catch him up to his peers we started the weekly training sessions and camps. We have seen our son flourish in the sport and he is able to compete with wrestlers that have wrestled years longer. Every wrestling room that my son has been in with Tony has provided an atmosphere where the athletes help, support, respect and learn from one another."

"My kid has had three different coaches across three different states, all of them with Olympic wrestling experience. Tony is the best instructor out of all of them. He does a great job instructing kids, simplifying moves, then drilling them until they are second nature. More importantly he takes kids who struggle and builds confidence and grit."

"My daughter, Mabel, thoroughly enjoyed the all girls camp with Tony. She learned a ton and was excited to bring some info and knowledge back to her team. As a parent, I enjoyed being able to come to the last practice and see them work. Tony was everything you want in a coach. He gave great advice, made sure they understood the moves, and was very encouraging. We will be back next year!"
