"Attended a lecture on the First War in Independence, Missouri. Upstairs room without much to see."

"Loved this museum experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and was not frustrated when asked questions off script. I enjoy the conversational interplay of the entire tour."

"We had a private tour of the house as well as a wonderful discussion about the life and times of various prominent KC-area people. The house is full of lovely craftsmanship and is well-preserved. Our guide was pleasant, knowledgeable, and open to any questions we had. Overall, this site is well-worth a visit if you're interested in KC-area history and the people who influenced its growth and development."

"Very nice historic home museum. Open seasonally, and limited hours, so it never hurts to contact them first. Walking distance from all the Westport restaurant and bars, but just far enough that there is plenty of parking. The house is very well maintained, and if you ask your guide, they probably have a ghost story or two."
