"We found what seemed to be a great little house at 2008 main. We loved the inside and were within two weeks of closing. When we had a sewer scope done. We found that the old clay pipe had numerous roots in it and needed to be replaced. We also found that within the last few years the owner was aware of this and knew the pipe was bad. The owner did not disclose this. The owner stated to our realtor the problem would be corrected. Instead of using a reputable company to replace the sewer line, the owner went with another company run by his family, which was his option. However a follow up scope showed the last 12 feet of the pipe had not been replaced and was still clogged with roots. The pipe was so full of water it had to be Roto rooted, removing more roots,before the camera could be used. Disclosing that the last sections of new pipe connected to the old clay were not level, but placed on an incline, causing the water to run uphill. The original cost to replace it by a reputable company was 5000.00, to do it correctly now, replacing it is over 6000.00. The owner told me to my face the last time he had any knowledge of a problem with the system was twenty years ago. When I had already checked and found 2 recent Roto jobs were requested by him. Also the original property value after inspection was 137 thousand, the appraisal done last week dropped it to 94 thousand. We offered to buy the home at 94 if owner repaired the system the right way. He turned down offer. Then had the nerve to put, contact cancel NO FAULT OF SELLER. REALLY, REALLY, this is so wrong. I urge caution in dealing with this company, and seller. This is very bad way to deal with people."
