"Steve took four of us out today at Melvern Lake... Our 70 year old dad, two adult sons, and a friend. Leading up to the fish, Steve communicated well with us as to where we would meet, and what we would have the most success trying to catch. Originally we wanted to fish Hillsdale because it’s so close to Kansas City, but Steve recommended Melvern for walleye and he was right! As he was explaining his fishing setup to our group, we caught a huge fish. We were busy all morning, and Steve was all over the boat. It seemed like every five minutes at least one of us had something on the line. We caught catfish, drum fish, crappie, walleye, black bass and one sauger. Dad caught the largest walleye he’s ever caught and limited out. The jaws started to drop when we got to the dock and unpacked before Steve cleaned all the fish. Steve was very knowledgeable about the fish and gave us pointers for when we are out ourselves later. He’s very knowledgeable and it’s obvious he had been in the lakes in and around this area his whole life."
