"Shakespeare in the Park, a tradition for over 30 years. Southmoreland Park is a great location for it, being in midtown and surrounded by the Nelson Atkins Museum and other open spaces. Aside from Shakespeare, the park is a very nice urban park with a playground at one end, large trees and open spaces to play, run around, picnic, or just rest among some greenery."

"The park here is in a great location--convenient for picnics when visiting the Nelson Atkins museum or Kemper Art Gallery nearby. There are many shady places for you to escape the sen as well. The 4 stars is less of a reflection on the park as a traditional "park" however. For other activities, there isn't much to do. What is remarkable about it is actually the use of it for events. The hillside creates a wonderful natural amphitheater for the annual Shakespeare in the Park performances. Nearly every seat was a great one during our visit this summer!"
