Fantastic Sams Cut & Color

"Woke up on a Saturday morning to get my hair cut. I called my mother and sister to come with me because my last experience was great! As I was walking with my mom and sister, I felt the animosity. Which I tried to ignore at first. I looked around the salon to see if the lady who cut my hair last time was there. Unfortunately she was not. Whoever the receptionist is (older woman like really old) said if I have been here before. Which I have. She asked if the other two have (mom and sister). I said “no”. Then some other older woman (short and mean face, could just be her face) came up and said they were booked. I had asked if they accept walk ins and I was told yes at first. Well the Second woman kept telling the older woman that she could only take one of us. Which I was willing to compromise with. But then the older lady said “here they have to fill out the forms. Do you want the Mexican one or the English form” I immediately felt offended but asked again to see if she would reiterate her question. She kept asking once again “do you want the Mexican one or the English form.” I tried to laugh it off because again, I did not want to have a bad experience. So I said, “the Mexican one?” She just gave me the “Mexican form”. My mom and sister were highly offended. I told her I need the English form. I don’t even know how to read in Spanish. So that was such a big offense to me. I kindly told them “no never mind. We will pass” she could have just offered the “Spanish version” no need to categorize in such a way. I am so bummed out and offended by this. I would like to get this resolved. I do not want anyone to go through this. I have MEXICAN FAMILY. But to instantly judge by a book by its cover is crazy. We are in 2024."

"Highly recommend going to see Kylei at this location!! I’ve been going to her for years, but when I decided to go another salon that was a bit closer I was completely distraught leaving. My hair was absolutely fried and they did not do what I asked. I was so happy that Kylei knew what to do to fix it right away. She got me in and helped get me the result I wanted in the first place. Love love love this location and Kylei! Will continue to make the trip here from now on."

"Ive been looking for a hair salon since I moved to KC and for a quick last min decision I went for a haircut at Great Clips. I had a bad experience there and immediately called here to see if they had availability. Of course I was welcomed right over and was checked in fast. Taleshia took me in and I showed her the reference picture of what I was looking for. She confirmed and delivered. I am so in love with my layers and the haircut. Definitely coming back. I found my favorite salon"

"Disappointing experience at Fantastic Sams. It's disheartening when promised services, like the hair trim and coupon discount, aren't honored as expected. The lack of clarity on the pricing structure for base and highlight services adds to the frustration, especially given the referral from a friend. The hairstylist said it would cost $150,I was expecting a premium service for this price however I was disappointed further when I gave her the coupon 15% off,this coupon was given to me from their other saloon and they informed me that I can get 15% off on total price. The hairstylist still charged me $ 140 ,on asking she said it’s for one service she can give the discount,where as it was my first time at this saloon and it was a single service which included the base and highlight,in the beginning she did not mention that they are considered two different services. Moreover the color is uneven,I will share the picture, I am embarrassed to tie up my hair. I am so disappointed I would never recommend anyone as I feel it wasn’t worth the money I paid."

"If I could rate 0 stars I would… I will Never return to this shop. I went in wanting a cut and color with multiple pictures of each, let me start by saying if you cannot achieve a color and are not comfortable doing it DO NOT ATTEMPT. My hair was absolutely ruined and NOT AT ALL close to the pictures. First and foremost, as soon and she died my hair and toned it it came out green and she dried it and asked if I was okay with the color???? I did not ask for green hair and immediately said no so she comes back and puts new color in my hair and after rinsing drying and cutting it, it is a DARK brown almost a black brown??! Pictures below for reference of what we started with, the green hair, what I asked for and the result???? My stylist was Brit by the way. And on top of all that I she gave me a “ $5” discount and I had to pay for something I didn’t ask for. As all of this was happening another young lady was with a different stylist and also unhappy and did not get what she asked for, save your time and do not go here."
