"Shay’s Creole Smokehouse has the best Rueben for St. Patty’s Day!! The Smokey pastrami is awesome, you will not be disappointed."
"First time at Shay’s! On my way home I texted 3 friends to tell them how good the food was!!! They specialize in creole and Barbque. My husband and I ordered from the creole menu. Everything we had was outstanding! I ordered the shrimp and brisket etouffe. It was really really good. So full of flavor and perfectly cooked large shrimp. My side was country green beans, best I’ve ever had at a restaurant! My husband had a cup of gumbo, pastrami sandwich he w a side of baked beans. We had to say yes to dessert, bread pudding w caramel spice! Very good. They also have an extremely large international beer menu. Service was outstanding and personal. The atmosphere is quant, small, but fun! I highly recommend!!!"
"You can smell the BBQ on the smoker as you're walking to the restaurant. I went with the Creole side of the menu; Gumbo and a side Cajun Corn, both were outstanding. I'll be back soon to try the BBQ, and more of the Creole. The waitress was very friendly. There is an extensive beer list. Do yourself a favor and hurry in."
"I live 45 minutes away from New Orleans. I come from a family of GREAT cooks, yet this place is impressive. I've been to places in New Orleans that claim creole cooking and this place brought me to my mom's house on holidays years ago. Food is great here with that nice creole spice. The gumbo, etoufee. and the red beans and rice, just AWESOME! The smoked cherry cobbler and the smoked bread pudding is great. All I can say is New Orleans restaurants yall have to step it up!"
"All three meats- brisket, pulled pork & ESPECIALLY the pastrami were smoked perfectly.Even my leftovers that I ate the following day was still moist after warming up in micro. Baked beans were fantastic!Rice& beans,Etouffee,&gumbo, were good too. Kind of dark inside,I had to use my phone to see the menu. It's inside the Old Millstream bar. Kind of hard to find"
