"This place makes the BEST burritos in town. And the best chips. I love me a thick and sturdy tortilla chip. Also, if you enjoy some heat try their light red salsa. The robust flavors bring me right back home to south Houston TX. I know this is California Mexican food, but man I am impressed! I've never been a fan of Cali mexi vs tex mex(the authentic stuff you find in South TX) until now!! The crazy California burrito just hits the spot. I love this place and will go here when it's a pick-up-dinner-somewhere kinda night! You guys are awesome!!"
"For a place outside of springfield the food here is impressive. The spice level is on point and you can get some spicy stuff here! Wasn’t impressed with their bread products the tortillas and bread for the pambazos wasn’t very good quality and was falling apart. The service here was just okay. The bathrooms here weren’t very clean. I think this place could definitely be an up and comer for those liking California style Mexican food. This place still isn’t topping out over el champu or two brothers for me though."
"Loads of flavor & spice and that’s how I like it! We have been here before and it’s always been so amazing and fresh! This time I had the chicken flautas and my husband had the Birria. My kids had the chicken & quesadilla kids meals and they were very large portions for the price! All the portions were substantial. Thumbs up! The free chips & salsa is always a win and the chips were so warm & delicious!! The restaurant was super clean and the service was fast & friendly. Parking lot is kinda tiny and the place is actually BEHIND Rocco’s so keep that in mind if you’re looking for it. I will be back and you should try this place too! One thing to note - they do not serve any alcohol. So if you’re looking for a margarita or cold beer you won’t get one here."
"We went to El Monarca because we have heard great things. We thought it was just ok. We got a birra taco, a scope and burrito enchilada style. The taco was good but didn't have the flavour of most and the ground beef in the other two items was very bland. Service and speed was great."
