"Nice to have a small town Hardware store with a great group of employees. Tommy can tell you where anything is located. The guy who sharpens blades and chains is great at what he does and friendly. The ladies who run the register are second to none. They've always had what I needed and most is so closed in price to the big box store you save it in fuel."

"Just left this place after having a miserable shopping experience. I’m so disappointed that I chose to bring my kids here to pick out Fathers Day gifts. If I had known they would be bullied by the full grown middle aged adults that work there I would have driven to Lee’s Summit and supported a more deserving business. The employees were very rude to my kids, a woman 40-50 years old yelled at my 11 year old son after he dropped a magnet, shouting at him that he better watch himself and he better be prepared to pay for anything he breaks. He came to stand next to me and she followed him to me looking like a rabid beast and hung around us while we picked through the gift options, asking if I need any help finding anything and then lurking around us, still watching him like she was going to paddle him right there in the store. When we moved to the tools another rude unfriendly older man shouted after us *aggressively and very unfriendly* if he can help us find something. I was making a big purchase with multiple tools, painting equipment, etc gifts in hand and one by one I put them back because I refuse to support a business who provides such a low quality customer service experience. I noticed their items are marked up compared to Amazon, for example the 10 piece DeWalt screwdriver set is $25 on Amazon with overnight delivery but $28 here. I was willing to pay their extra profit for the convenience of going home with it today. I had also intended to purchase cedar mulch for a gardening project at $7 a bag, I would have paid double for the convenience of buying it in town and not having to travel farther for it. I felt there is a scarcity complex here where their concern of you stealing is greater than their desire to make you as comfortable as they can while you pay double the normal retail cost. It’s extra insulting that their retail is over valued and their customer service sorely undervalued. As I was walking out the door a male employee shouted after my son accusing him of stealing a $1 slim Jim (right after we had just finished spending $100 at the checkout with my son standing right there, the cashier asking if he wants it in the bag or to hold it, and I’m visibly paying for all our items, yet in front of the whole store this man shouted accusations at my kid!) We are proud of the morals we teach and my son has more honor than any of the employees at this store. This was my second time ever coming to this store, the first time I came was almost two years ago with my husband and we were in and out looking at a chainsaw that we ultimately bought from Ace because they had better options from Stihl. I can’t express how unwelcome we felt during our time here and we’ll never be back. I’m even considering returning what I did buy because of the principle of it. And I just wanted to add, their Father’s Day cards lacked any sentiment and would insult most people as they only offered cards with crude humor (for example: a card comparing their dad to good toilet tissue.) There were no other options. Please someone bring a competitor into their monopoly market so we can have a genuine good place to support when we get our tools, gifts and gardening supplies."

"I wanted to leave a one star: “Extremely rude cashier” because I was that fed up this morning. But I called and the manager was willing to listen to my complaint and was pleasant. I hope they are able to fix the issues."
