My husband proclaimed it was the best cod he's had in 20 years—high praise indeed! The texture was flaky, and the flavors were impeccably balanced. "We make a 30 min drive from south Overland Park time and time again to have ~the best~ evenings here. Date nights. Gathering with friends. Gathering with colleagues. Gathering with family. Their ambience fits every type of get together. The food, drinks, and service/people are phenomenal and ~genuine.~ This place is so special. The patio is a breath of fresh air. "If I had to pick just one restaurant in KC, this would be the place. It's a remarkably even balance of elements: expertly-prepared food, clever cocktails, comfortable surroundings and excellent hospitality. The menu changes regularly, so I don't have any specific dishes to recommend. For the appetizer course I've had soups, salads and other options without ever making a bad choice. Likewise the pastas, entrees and desserts have been uniformly delicious. Just three days before I wrote this review, 1900 was named as a semifinalist for a Beard Award for hospitality. They deserve the prize. Servers are polite and efficient, and they know their regular customers by name."
