"Me: Very afraid of dentists, hygienists, and all things related to teeth. Joplin Family Dental: Kind, compassionate, caring, welcoming, considerate, and willing to accommodate whatever irrational fears I have about taking care of my oral health. After waiting over a decade to take care of my oral health, I got up the courage to make an appointment. I had to. I was in constant pain and fear of whatever was going on in my mouth. If it weren't for the kind, non-judgmental voice on the other end of the phone, I would never have went in. Once I did, my pulse was 130 bpm and I was sweating like I was working out. I sat down in the chair, and if it weren't for the patience and understanding of my hygienist, Lisa, I would have ran out of there at the first sign of pain. She talked with me through every part and offered everything I needed to make sure I was comfortable. I wish I could tell you more about the dentist himself but I'm usually half-sedated, relaxing, jamming out to music with my sunglasses on when he does his work. The Joplin Family Dental team understood my fear when I didn't understand it myself, and through every step of the process everyone in their respective roles communicated their understanding and care throughout the process. They're the real deal. 4 years later and I'm booking whitening appointments and looking forward to getting my teeth cleaned every appointment. I can't recommend them enough."
