"**Update to the update. 3/8/24 - lunch Wow! I'm glad we took the new owners suggestion to give them another try. First of all the, queso is free for the first order and it's delicious. Great consistency and flavor. Additionally, the traditional salsa is very tasty with just the right amount of chunky veggies. The chips are incredible! They come out thin, warm and glimmering with the oil that they were just fried in. These aren't your " open the bag pour them in a bowl and warm them up " type of chips. We have the Baja taco meal and the No. 1 (beef taco and enchilada). The number one was as good as you'd expect at any decent Mexican restaurant. The Baja taco was delicious with several large shrimp. The service was great. Friendly, accurate and well-timed interactions. I'm glad that we went back. We will definitely add this back into a rotation. **UPDATE: the following review was given for our visit in February 2023 (1 year ago). I was contacted recently by the NEW owners indicating that they have returned the restaurant to the former good quality, including a first complimentary queso. We'll give them another try and provide an updated review. Disappointed. We gave this place a chance a couple of years ago and fell in love. We traveled from Lee's Summit many times a year to enjoy the food. As usual, the place is clean and the service is attentive. Unfortunately, some things have changed. They used to offer a small bowl of queso along with the chips and salsa. No more. We decided to order the queso for $4.50 (was told $3.99, but no biggie). Sadly, the queso was luke warm (not good for melted cheese) and I'm 99% sure it's a different recipe than before. Disappointing. We split the shrimp taco dinner. The tacos were very good with plenty of plump shrimp. However, the beans and rice were less than luke warm. Screws up the meal. I don't trust sending food back to be reheated so we simply made due. After this experience, since Mi Rancho is a place we specifically traveled to for the good food and queso, we will likely not return."

"Stopped in for a late lunch on a rainy day. Food was excellent, service was great! Music was too loud for my liking and was difficult to enjoy my meal or carry on a normal conversation without raising voices or straining to hear. Had to leave before I finished my meal because it was making me feel ill and disoriented. I'll just have to do take-out if (IF) I'm going to eat here in the future."

"We had a taco salad and a taco plate which were excellent. The sides you expect were great. Very reasonable price for good food. Our server got everything promptly as we asked. A couple of requests were done well also. The chips were especially to our liking. Great spot. Excellent today, we both had combinations, very good. Update 12/29/2023 Great as usual. They had a great crowd for Friday night date night, but had great dinner."
