"The city of Jackson has absolutely neglected and then actively destroyed this incredible piece of engineering. The whole park surrounding it looks like a warzone, and is dangerous to navigate through. The only good thing in the park is the amazing mountainbike trail which is maintained by private citizens of Clinton, seemingly completely without help from the city of Jackson. It's a true testament of the complete failure that is the Jackson, MS government."
"A unique piece of history. I highly recommend it if you are into ruins, water systems, or obscure exhibits. The lower Mississippi is pretty clear and easier to navigate - farther upstream the trees are denser and the model is covered in pine needles. The model has a side walk for some parts, but in general it is not accessible or good for small children."
"Not a stop for everybody. As an engineer I was amazed at the scope of the place and the insane amount of work it took the construct it. Buildings are heavily vandalized and the site is starting to show years of abandonment but still a cool place."

"This historical place is awesome to visit. They have their own website where you can set up a tour hosted by Friends of the Mississippi River Basin Model. It is huge! About 200 acres. Has a cool lookout tower, though all you can see are trees. Hopefully they will restore some of it one day and turn it into a science Center like they want to."
