Reviews
"Great for a state campground. Right on the trail, attentive and helpful host, good facilities including showers, fire pits, covered common tables, a wash sink, and even a few outlets near the common space. Right in town, not deluxe, but well maintained. Worked well for an overnight bike ride using Crown Zellerbach and Banks-Vernonia trails."
"This place was beautiful. The host, Brittney was very friendly. We definitely plan on going back. The only thing i didn't care for was, having to use quarters to pay for the shower."
"This is a really nice little park with clean bathrooms and showers. But the best part of our camping trip was definitely our camp hostess. I called ahead to inquire about possible campfire ban and she not only checked with the local fire department to see if my propane fire ring was OK to use, but she also called me back later to offer me a much nicer site than I had originally because there was a cancelation. She definitely went far above my expectations."
"This place is a pure hidden treasure for family with kids …. So clean and the river has crawfish and so long to walk and play camp!! We go every year!!!"
"5 Star Hosts Anderson Park tent camping: There are several spaces available. The spaces closest to the road are the most level but those spaces lack shade/coverage so pack a canopy. We loved our reception from hosts Brittney and Jeff. Brittney was so easy to work with over the phone and even more gracious in person. Brittney’s warm, attentive and helpful character make the experience as great as possible. I love that there is a hot shower available (bring quarters). It lasts about 5 minutes or so. There are several electrical outlets in the covered area. Potable water near the playground. A sink with hot water for clean up in the picnic area, as well as many picnic tables. This is a great park. If you don’t want to drive into absolute wilderness and like to have a couple of resources nearby. You can walk right from the campsite straight into town for food or supplies. There are no big stores. There’s a market & a couple of restaurants also a couple of good places to get coffee in the morning. After you get your coffee, you can pick up a bundle of firewood in town for $6 and bring it back to camp from a place just another block over from coffee and breakfast. All within a few blocks!! I have reviews for some of the food that we tried if you want to check those out. That seems to be a really popular place for people who like bicycles. There are stacks of firewood available on site for $10 a piece. There is no direct access to the river. I thought that the campsites, closer to the horse arena would be smelly, but when we were out there, I couldn’t smell a thing. Those spots are closest to the bathrooms, as far as tent camping goes. I took photos and numbered the sites, as well as I could without encroaching upon anyone’s privacy. This might help with selecting your site. In the future, I personally will reserve more than one spot. One for vehicle access, and the other one to set up on. (They run tandem)."
