"Great place to camp by the river. They have ice and hot showers. Campfires are currently not allowed here. If you are a light sleeper, there is a train close by that runs throughout the night."

"Just spent the last hour picking up geese droppings from our campsite to keep from tracking it into our RV. Has anyone else done that? Otherwise the campground is very nice. Well, there are the trains that run past at all hours of the night."

"I hiked at Dechute River trail with friends and my dog, Jasper. It was almost flat trail (very less up and down) and we did hike with out and back for 16 miles. Only issue is that there are a tons of ticks. Whenever I noticed ticks are crawling on my dog's fur, I removed them. When I got back to the parking lot, I check her body thoroughly. I didn't see any ticks so I put her into my car. When I arrived at the drive way at my home, I used metal comb and found 2. When I brought her to shower room, used tick & flea shampoo. 2 dead one came out after shower. OMG, you may not want to bring your doggies there..."

"This was a really nice camp site, right on the Deschutes river. We were there on a Sunday in early May and if I thought it was that uncrowded all of the time I would give it 5 stars. You can fish and swim in the river with several easy access areas. Three trails head off from the camping area. At the beginning there is a strange solar contraption with a bench around it. Upon further inspection it has USB ports for charging devices! We thought the lower trail was fantastic as it meandered along the river. But we cut up to the top trail for the trek back and we're handsomely rewarded with fantastic views. Directly across the river is a day use area for launching boats, picnicking or just hanging out. Both the camping and day use areas have live-in hosts for a sense of security. Bonus, it is close to Multnomah falls."

"We biked in about 13 miles along the upper trail before turning back. It's a great ride with a good workout attached. It's absolutely beautiful the whole way, but fighting the wind can be a bit much. We did see several rattle snakes on the trail, so be mindful and don't hike/bike alone."
