About the Business

Oregon Law Center

Oregon Law Center is a legal aid institution located at 230 Northeast 2nd Avenue in Hillsboro, Oregon, United States. We provide free legal assistance to individuals facing challenges related to their homes, livelihoods, medical care, and safety against domestic violence. With client service offices across the state, including in Coos Bay, Grants Pass, Gresham, Lane County, Portland, Salem, and more, we strive to ensure access to justice for all Oregonians in need. Our team of lawyers and staff work tirelessly to dismantle systemic racism and white supremacy as we advocate for economic justice on behalf of our clients. Through our statewide network and various programs, such as the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic and the Eviction Defense Project, we are committed to bringing equity, justice, and integrity into our communities and legal system. Visit our website or contact us for legal advice and resources. Your donation can make a difference in helping us achieve justice for low-income communities in Oregon.

"Their actions are contributing to the devastation of the city with no thoughts as to the impact at large. Don’t even return concerned citizens emails or calls. Guarantee it would be a different story if their positions and efforts impacted them directly. Look around and explain how we don’t need a camping ban by people’s homes and businesses."

"Week two of trying to get a hold of them and no one answers the calls. Nor, the option to leave a voicemail through the number listed."

"After multiple unanswered phone calls to the office I attempted to drive to the address listed with zero success in making contact... Wondering how they could help anyone in this way."

"Under the guise of helping low-income folks this organization hands out hard working taxpayer's money. Three able-bodied adults chose repeatedly not to pay the $1100 agreed rent. Started eviction process and Oregon Law Center bailed them out with minor legal services and 3 months' free rent. Tenants learned a valuable lesson; Don't work, someone else will pay your bills. OLC your mission statement is misleading, you were not truly about justice you were about free handouts at taxpayer expense."

"Two stars. Would not recommend. This service is incredibly difficult to get in touch with in the first place. Then, once you do get in touch with them, they dictate what you can ask for, and don't represent you if you want to ask for something different. After literally 10 hours of back and forth, they refused to work with me because I wanted to _ask for_ (not even expect to get, just ask for) the public school to support my daughter with a dual diagnosis going to a private school that specializes in the treatment of children with a dual diagnosis. They instead insisted that I trust the public school (who violated my daughters rights by refusing to test her for a year, and then was the cause of her PTSD) to handle implementation of care. Because I wanted to ask for something more than they were comfortable supporting, they turned me down."
