North Bend Medical Center - Gold Beach

"Came to NBMC after a major accident. Dr. Hawthorne was amazing and gave me the care I needed/deserved. However, SAIF requires that PAs cannot treat patients after 6 weeks, so I transferred my care to Dr. Williams. While Dr. Williams did submit referrals I requested, he also signed paperwork that said I was healed and back to 100%, even though none of my referrals ended up going through. I left numerous voice-mails and came to his office numerous times, but none of these calls were returned. His signature on those papers cost me the ability to continue seeking care under SAIF, even though I never saw any of the specialists that he referred me to. I even heard that members of the staff sign for the doctors without reading the papers and knowing how they affect their patients. I am still dealing with the after effects of my accident over a year later. Secondly, I could hear people from this practice talking about my condition at a local business, which made me feel like my privacy with my doctor wasn't a concern. Overall, I would have gone with a different doctor, even if it meant driving away from the coast if I would've gotten better care."

"Told me $150 for an office visit over the phone, and then again in person. Ok, fine, I have no insurance so I paid the full $150 up front at the time of my visit. Week later I get a bill for $174, with zero explanation for the additional charges. It was a standard 15 minute office visit. How rude to charge patients more than originally stated and not even provide a reason for the charges. I would not return to this office, due to deceitful billing practices. Somehow $10 a minute for the services of a PA is not enough for these people."

"I’ve never had such a terrible experiences with a doctors office. I made an FAA medical appointment drove an hour to get to the office only to be turned back and canceled on. Went back a second time and was canceled on again… I have driven three times to the office, spent 6 hours on the road. On the third trip had terrible weather conditions (landslide), lost hours of work to make those three appointments and still spent $180 for the visit. What?!? I know we live in a rural area but this is NOT HOW WE TREAT PATIENTS!! Who waits for the last minute to check to see if the FAA account is locked? Dr. Should have had access Day before. Who waits till the last minute to cancel an appointment?!? Say they called and actually never makes that contact to cancel?!? No… just no!! Go to another doctor for the FAA medical. Dr. Williams was a kind man. Just upset to have all this happen…"
