"My Toyota RAV-4 had a rare mechanical problem that when first diagnosed by a Portland mechanic was told it would be over $6800 for an entire engine replacement. Didn’t offer further investigating so when a family friend recommended Helmer’s I got my car towed to their shop and was immediately treated with more dignity and determination. David was quite the sleuth and discovered the problem after a few attempts and research and within weeks my car was operational at less than 10% the original quote price. I am very lucky to have had this experience and will be going back when needed in the future!"

"The elusive “honest mechanic.” I usually fix my own cars, but when I’m unable to for whatever reason, this is where I’ve gone. I’ve done so for the last 15 years. They’ve always been straightforward and up front about what they’re doing. And if something turns out to be simple out an easy fix, they’ll get it done and not try to cheat and add stuff. They even don’t embarrass me when they’ve re-fixed something I didn’t get right!"
