Sunset Grill Restaurant

"It had been at least 20 years since I had been here so I decided tonight to go in and give it a try. The main restaurant had one other couple, otherwise was empty. Tons of people in the bar on the slot machines. The restaurant itself hasn’t changed a bit, if you want to step back in time some 30-40 years you’ll get that experience in this restaurant. A remodel would really help to bring things up to date but considering how slow it was in a Friday night I can imagine why it hasn’t happened. Our waiter didn’t have the best English but she did her best and was very timely with things. The food wasn’t anything special but for what it was it was very good. Our bill at the end was hand written, not something you see much of anymore. Overall I’d probably go back again."

"Breakfast served all day! I was about to spend $10 to $15 on a drive-thru sandwich for lunch. I pulled into here instead. Plenty of good choices at that price point. *Ranch Hand’s Favorite ( biscuits & gravy, two eggs, bacon or sausage, hash browns)"

"First thing you smell as soon as you walk in a cigarette. Then your greeted by someone who can’t really speak, and definitely doesn’t really understand English at all. They have a big, beautiful open kitchen with all of the appliances you could ever ask for yet everything came from a box pre-frozen. There’s a sign on the door that says hiring a cook from one cook to another. I would be embarrassed to put anything remotely close to what they’re serving on a table. I literally said my meal to my dog in the parking lot."

"Great service and a good selection of items on the menu. Omelettes are very tasty. Biscuits were a bit too soft. They need a bit of a crunchy crust I think. Hash browns were soggy on the inside despite a nice golden color on the outside. Coffee comes with refills which is great. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They provide a fast service. You are handed the menu and allowed to sit anywhere you like, which is also great. Windows are too high so you cannot see the outside. There isn't much to look at inside and the place feels a bit dark. Additional lighting and decorations would make a huge difference for the customers. Great place to have a quick bite though. I would not choose this place for a special dinner though. It is good for casual outings that won't put a dent in your wallet."

"Lots of tasty food for very little money at this clean diner with friendly service and classic interior. The biscuits and gravy are very good, and the Spanish omelette was satisfying. Unfortunately on day we visited, the biscuits were a bit tough, and they seemed understaffed. However, the hash browns were excellent, and they serve classic “drink all day” diner coffee."
