"Our point of contact with Gulf Coast was Sara Fernandez. This is my experience with her and Gulf Coast bank. I always felt rushed. Sarah would get on the phone and start talking a mile a minute and use bank language as if I’ve been doing banking as longs as her. There was always something missed during conversations. We would ask questions and get them answered and have a conversation 2 weeks later and Sarah would state oh no that’s not what that meant. She only listens to respond and not listen to understand where the other person is coming from. And hence the miscommunication. She would also send documents, but would never explain them. I did not like that I never meet her in person, a lot of the transactions were via email and over the phone. During closing I didn’t even know that I was getting money back. It was to give to my contractor, but it was never explained to me that the amount is from …. Heck I still don’t know! I knew we had a balance to pay our contractor but when there was an additional amount added we had to go back and ask what’s that amount for. I would have preferred if she would explain it first, let me review and if I had further questions that I could call her later. Every conversation she cuts you off, doesn’t listen and you feel like she’s rushing you because she has a million things to do. You feel like she’s literally squeezing you in a 2 minute slot but you’re only given 45 seconds. I’m sure I could come up with more examples of conversations that we weren’t on the same page, but it has the same common denominator as mentioned above. So if I had to refer anyone based on my experiences I would tell them to not go with Gulf Coast it would save you a lot of frustration. My husband and I would have conversations after we spoke with her or disagreed about what she thought she heard and try to figure out how did she get that or did she not hear me say this… I literally listen for a living as a counselor and speaking with Sarah stresses me out!"
